Meet Dr. Joanne F. Reed & Dr. Ashley Noegel - Optometric Team Near You
Dr. Joanne Reed graduated beta cum laude from Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry in 1991. After practicing in Buffalo, NY, she moved to Jacksonville to work in the field of Cataract and Refractive surgery. She provided pre and post-operative care for surgical patients for 15 years.
Dr. Reed is very happy to be using her extensive knowledge to provide state of the art eye care to patients in her St. Augustine, FL practice. Her passion and dedication was recognized in 2013 when she proudly accepted the Vision Source Practice of the Year award.
We asked Dr. Reed about her passion for Optometry:
'Optometry is a medical field with a wide range of practice options. I was interested in practicing medical optometry, teaching, and eventually owning a practice. And I wanted a field that would allow me the flexibility to adjust my schedule in response to family needs. Optometry satisfies all my professional requirements.'
Dr. Reed has been happily married for over 33 years. Their beautiful family includes girl/boy twins, now in college, and a 14 year old daughter who is not far behind. In her spare time, you'll find her running, biking, reading, playing the piano, and enjoying time with her family.
Dr. Noegel is a Florida native from Starke. She completed her Bachelor's degree from The University of Central Florida and went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) College of Optometry in 2014.
She went on to complete a residency program at the Lake City VA Medical Center in primary eye care and low vision. It was there that she developed a special emphasis in ocular disease ranging from glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
She joined our practice in 2015 and feels privileged to be building relationships with her patients and their families. She practices full scope primary eye care with comprehensive eye exams consisting of contact lens exams, the management of ocular diseases, and pre and post op cataract care.
In her free time, she likes to spend quality time with her family, reading, watching the Jaguars and going to college football games.
